Acoustics, Noise and Vibration Control Engineering
Acoustical Modelling
When examining a physical problem, engineers often compromise between the most precise mathematical model and the model that is most useful in obtaining reasonable solutions.
Acousticians utilise a variety of mathematical relationships in their analysis, and use them with computer simulations or scale models to predict the the generation, attenuation, and nature of sound, as well as the acoustic characteristics of a space.
Experience
SACL has had a variety of experience in acoustically modelling of spaces. The firm constantly develops mathematical models for acoustic and vibration solutions.
SACL also uses the computer simulation program EASE to predict the acoustics of complex spaces. Some past acoustical modelling projects include the vibration model for Chicago Bears Stadium, EASE model for Westpark Baptist Church and models of the isolation of railway vibration noise affecting the Brampton Heritage Theatre
